Copper Mountain Technologies develops innovative and robust RF test and measurement
solutions for engineers all over the world. The company was created in 2011 and
is based in Indianapolis, IN with a sales office in Singapore. Our innovative products
and partnership approach enable RF and Microwave engineers to realize their potential
through access to lab-grade instrumentation at affordable prices. Our world-class
metrology and engineering resources work as an extension of your team.
Copper Mountain Technologies' VNAs include an RF measurement module and a software
application which runs on any Windows PC, laptop or tablet, connecting to the measurement
hardware via USB interface. The user can take advantage of the latest OS, processing
power, larger display, and reliable performance of an external PC, as well as lower
total cost of ownership and simplified maintenance of the analyzer. The result is
a faster, more effective test process that fits into the modern workspace in lab,
production, field and secure testing environments. This creative approach made Copper
Mountain Technologies a leader in the industry and earned them both the 2015 Frost &
Sullivan Global Leadership in Innovation Award and the 2017 Product Leadership Award

Copper Mountain Technologies and PulseLARSEN
Antennas released the
IoTest™ kit, which helps designers of IoT devices select and test the
right antenna for the project. The kit includes a Copper Mountain Technologies'
P60 Antenna Analyzer, antenna testing software specifically designed for users with
little to no RF testing experience, sample antennas, and cable assembly and adapters
to connect antennas to the Analyzer. The IoTestsoftware is easy to use and walks
users step-by-step through connecting the antenna, calibrating the analyzer, testing
sample antennas in the kit, and comparing results with memory traces for each sample
antenna saved in the software. In support of Central Indiana's focus on IoT, Copper
Mountain Technologies provided one IoTest kit to Indiana IoT Lab in Fishers for
use by its resident companies in IoT product design ...
In the IoT world, time to market is essential
and developing a new product has enough hurdles as such. PulseLARSEN has therefore
developed the
IoTest™ kit (powered by Copper Mountain Technologies) to accelerate the process
of embedding antennas in your product, to evaluate your antenna performance, to
compare to existing PulseLARSEN antennas, and to consult experienced antenna professionals
if any further assistance is required. This kit is extremely mobile, easy-to-carry,
and becomes the ideal toolbox for technical sales or FAE on the field or engineers
in tight spaces. Self installing software is included and its user-friendly GUI
will guide you through the multiple possibilities this kit offers. View the webinar

Copper Mountain Technologies'
VNA software is now available for Linux OS, specifically for Ubuntu and Mint distributions.
The CMT VNA software for Linux includes all the same features as our VNA software
for Windows. Any CMT VNA can now operate in a Linux environment, whether it is controlled
manually or its operation is automated using SCPI commands via TCP/IP sockets. A
first in the industry, Copper Mountain Technologies' USB VNAs operating in Linux
OS extend the reach of engineers who can now incorporate precision VNAs into their
Linux test environment. Test Drive Copper Mountain

Copper Mountain Technologies and Compass
Technology Group are pleased to announce their new
Epsilometer solution for measuring the dielectric properties of materials. This
solution measures dielectric substrate materials at frequencies from 3 MHz
up to 6 GHz and can accommodate sheet specimens 0.3 to 3 mm thick. Dr.
John Schultz of Compass Technology commented, "Unlike previous dielectric analysis
technologies, this new method uses computational electromagnetic modeling to invert
the dielectric permittivity and loss. This represents a significant advance over
conventional methods, which use analytical approximations and are limited to frequencies
below 1 GHz." With the launch of Epsilometer, Copper Mountain Technologies
delivers another solution that combines its metrology-grade ...
Copper Mountain Technologies launches their
new FET1854 extenders
with frequency range from 18 to 54 GHz. This product is an addition to the existing
CobaltFx mmWave frequency extension system already used by many telecommunications
and consumer electronics companies. With the launch of the new FET1854 extenders,
the CobaltFx system will allow engineers to build a scalable and affordable 5G testing
solution. Anchored by a 2- or 4-port 9 or 20 GHz USB vector network analyzer, CobaltFx
includes extenders ...
According to Microwave Journal Editor
Patrick Hindle, "Antenna measurements are difficult to make due to their multi-directional
nature, their cables / connections to equipment and interfering signals in the environment.
The measurement setup, surrounding environment and physical connections all need
to be carefully specified and setup, paying close attention to the instruments and
materials used." Copper Mountain Technologies collaborated with Microwave Journal
to offer you this free eBook,
Precision Antenna Measurements, on precision antenna
measurements ...
Based on its recent analysis of the universal
serial bus (USB) vector network analyzer (VNA) industry, Frost & Sullivan recognizes
Copper Mountain Technologies (CMT) with the 2017 Global Frost & Sullivan
Award for Product Leadership. The imminent move of many Internet of Things (IoT)
technologies from research to commercialization is expected to drive the demand
for lower cost instrumentation over the next 5 to 10 years. CMT is well positioned
to make the most of this opportunity with a strong and established USB VNA offering
that is coupled with superior customer support ...
Copper Mountain Technologies has published
a whitepaper titled, "What Makes a Good VNA?" CMT manufactures Vector Network Analyzers
with a USB interface. "Everyone knows that a good VNA should have both excellent
hardware performance and an easy to use software interface with useful post-processing
capabilities. But there are numerous VNAs in the market with different performance
levels; some of them are economy grade, and others are truly laboratory test grade.
So what ..."
Copper Mountain Technologies ha published
a white paper titled
Testing & Matching PCB Antennas: Switches and Other Options.
"Connecting to an Antenna Under Test (AUT) integral to a Device (DUT) may involve
some tradeoffs between measurement accuracy, electrical considerations, and mechanical
ruggedness. In this paper, we describe some aspects of this connection with practical
advice for such test and measurement scenarios. A test port will usually be at a
50 ohm point. If the design includes a coax switch for inspection and final test
purposes, an antenna test sample can be produced ..."
Copper Mountain Technologies has made available
a whitepaper titled
How to Test an RF Coaxial Cable using a VNA. "RF coaxial cables
are high precision test assemblies, which along with a calibration kit, adapters
and a torque wrench ensure the integrity of the measurements taken by test equipment
such as a Vector Network Analyzer. An ideal cable transfers maximum RF energy while
incurring as little loss as possible. To choose the best cable for a test solution,
one has to consider several factors such as: operating frequency ..."
