Millennial Net was founded in 2000 with the vision to create a robust, scalable, and very low power wireless sensor networking platform. Headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Millennial Net traces its roots to MIT, where two of the company's founders achieved advanced degrees and performed ground-breaking research in low-power data-acquisition systems.

Millennial Net's technology forms a reliable, scalable star-mesh wireless network by combining micro-power sensor interface endpoints and routers with a gateway. This solution uniquely provides both long battery life at the sensor interfaces and fault-tolerant networking.

Our innovative, patent-pending network protocol creates robust and fully redundant wireless links from the gateway to the endpoints through a self-configuring mesh network. The endpoints directly connect to, and are small enough to integrate into, analog or digital sensors and actuators. The network elements self-organize at power-up and re-configure in response to changes in the environment, network traffic, and device status and location. These tiny devices fit anywhere, enable mobility, and minimize installation and operating costs.

The company's primary product is the i-Bean, the world's smallest wireless sensor networking device. It combines analog and digital interfaces, a radio transceiver, and a microcontroller for sensor signal processing, control and networking.
