RFHIC Introduces High Gain MMIC for FTTx, CATV & Broadcasting Market

Superior distortion characteristics for AE314 & AE312

RFHICRFHIC AE312 AE314 GaAs E-pHEMT AmplifiersSuwon, Korea (June 23, 2009) –  RFHIC Corporation, manufacturer of active RF & MW components and hybrids for wireless telecommunication markets, released a GaAs E-pHEMT (Gallium Arsenide Enhancement Mode pHEMT) MMIC for the FTTx, CATV and broadcasting markets.

AE314 is a cascode amplifier with high gain of 22dB(Typ.), and has superior distortion performance on multi-channel environments. DC to 1GHz, or DC to 2GHz matching application is provided for FTTx or satellite applications driver amplifier or a final amplifier.

AE312 has a current mirror circuit within the MMIC and is more stable in even a harsh environment. Very good noise figure of 1.0dB (Typ.) makes this device idea for Low Noise Amplifier application for CATV and optical ONU applications.

“RFHIC is a key supplier to cable television (CATV) cable modem and set-top box products, CATV infrastructure products and Fiber-To-The-Premises (FTTP) products in US, Europe, and Korea. AP112, which has been sold for millions of units per year in the very market is a great product, but we are happy to introduce the next generation device – AE314 & AE312, which even provides higher gain and better distortion than AP112.” said Mr. Kevin Kim, Senior International Sales Manager, RFHIC Corporation.

Both RFIC has very good gain flatness, high linearity, low noise figure, and high gain. The broadband characteristics of the devices are exceptionally good for cable television (CATV) cable modem and set-top box products, CATV infrastructure products and Fiber-To-The-Premises (FTTP) products. AE314 and AE312 use +5V supply voltage, and are 75ohm impedance matched with strong in/out VSWR. Both AE314 and AE312 are available in an industry standard SOT-89 low cost SMD plastic package and is lead-free/RoHS compliant.

Both AE314 and AE312 are available in sample quantity immediately, and volume shipments will start from August 2009. Other higher output, push pull devices such as AE514 is available from RFHIC as well. These RoHS compliant device samples are available through international representative networks or by directly contacting RFHIC.
