RFCafe.eu - We Are Now International! - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Below are the old forum threads, including responses to the original posts.

-- Anecdotes, Gripes & Humor
-- Antennas
-- CAE, CAD, & Software
-- Circuits & Components

Greetings:

With the recent acquisition of the rfcafe.eu domain name, RF Cafe is now officially an international entity! This is so because in order for me to own a .eu domain name, I have to have a business representative in a European Union country. That is provided by the registrar, Network Solutions. Like so many other things, there are ways around just about every requirement set forth by rule makers. It is kind of like in the U.S. you can establish a corporation in a state other than where you actually reside (e.g., a Delaware or Arizona corporation) as long as you have a formal business partnership in those other states.

I know from watching website statistics that about 20% of visitors to RF Cafe originate from outside of the United States. Most of those come from EU countries, Japan, Korea, India, and Canada. When scanning the Web for daily headline articles and other items of interest, I bear in mind my international audience and try to provide a mix of topics that reflects everyone's needs. Most articles of interest to RF Cafe visitors are by the very nature of today's marketplace international, so finding relevant information is not difficult – just time-consuming.

For now, RFCafe.eu is sitting idle, as is RFCafe.co.uk. I am open to ideas for what to do with the domains, other than merely creating mirror site of the existing RFCafe.com – although that is an option. Thanks.
