Gain Flatness - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

I have a measurement that I am not familiar with. I have been asked to perform a Gain Flatness measurement over a frequency range.

I am measuring a coax cable with 2 connectors.

What type of meausrement is Gain Flatness ? How would I set up the VNA ?

Thanks,
Tom

Gain flatness of any applicable device is defined as the variation of a transmission characteristic (S21) over the full operational frequency range, usually at a given temperature, expressed in dB.

Take Care
