GSM GRPS, EDGE... Mobile Handset parameters - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Hello Guys,

I am interested to know about the parameters that are being tested during the evaluation of a mobile phone with these standards: GSM, GRPS, EDGE and similar. Would you be so kind to provide some information about that (links, app notes etc), or from your own experience.

Greetings IR:

ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) is the specification you want. It lays out all the required tests for GSM. Test equipment vendors like Rohde & Schwarz and Aglient can point you in the right direction either by calling a rep or looking up communications test sets on their websites.
