Student work hours per week - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Below are the old forum threads, including responses to the original posts.

A recent student survey in the UK, published today, found that in the UK science and engineering students spent on average 35 hours a week studying (that makes 133 hours drinking in bars and clubs).

Arts students (media studies, medieval church knitting studies, history of rap groups 1950-200 studies etc) spent on average 20 hours per week.

15,000 students were questioned in one of the largest such surveys ever done.

How about this site doing a world-wide study on science and engineering study hours per week? If each science student asked 20 colleagues how many hours they spent studying per week, that would reach quite a large statistical sample.

Greetings nubbage:

That's a good idea. You should be able to create a poll of your own from your posting. It might be a good idea to start a new thread in the Education forum area. If you create the poll and provide a little text description of your goal, I'll link to it as the next Forum Poll on the RF Cafe homepage.
