The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

I'm looking for an inexpensive frequency agile TV modulator for the test bench. Currently I have to configure a non agile exciter every time I want to test a transposer. Any recomendations would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Kirt, how about a test equipment forum?

If you're exciter doesn't put out a whole lot of power,
and you have an RF sig generator laying around, get
a connectorized mixer and up or down convert the exciter output
to the frequency you desire?

Probably some issues with this, but if the difference in the frequency
of your original exciter and the frequency you're converting to is large enough, it might work... watch spectral inversion too...

Yeah, It's possible, but I really would like to just turn on the video generator and then pick the input channel of the transposer. I could be tuning a handfull of these in a day sometimes.
