Anyone know who really invented the "Sound-beam" ? - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Hi,

todays headline news contains a link "Sound-Beam Inventor Wins $500,000 Lemelson-MIT Award" http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7536267, saying that a lonesome guy invented the "sound-beam". But Sennheiser http://www.sennheiser.com/sennheiser/icm_eng.nsf/root/09859 already offers something like that since 2000, so who was the first ? Or maybe both invented it at the same time ?
