I work for RFMD since I graduated from college in
ShangHai. At that time, they just build new factory
in Beijing for IC electrical verification. I learned
a lot. And now they have assembly line in Beijing
and design center has just builded up in ShangHai.
The only thing is that they don't even provide
stock option to Beijing guys.

I have been working with RFMD parts on and off for
over a decade. If you are small company (translate:
not a cellular phone company), you will find it
very difficult to get technical support from them.
I am using the RF2172 power amp in a design
right now and I have received zero support for the
part. Being a PA, it is tricky and touchy and moody;
all good reasons to call up the company for tips
and tricks when using it. I got nothing from RFMD.
I did, however, get a SemTech engineer who knows
the RFMD part really well to help me out.

I know some of RFMD's parts are from sirenza micro
devices, Sirenza used to chose GiGa solution, and
third part testing, some of parts not a good design,
like 26 pcakage.

I have always had good experiences working with
RFMD. MY first time with them was actually getting
a couple parts for my college Sr. project. The tech
engineer I talked to Lon [something - can't remember
last names] was a great source of knowledge. It's
been almost 10 years since then and I still try
to use their parts for my wireless designs. It's
good policy to be nice to students
