Hi folks ,
I have a couple of questions:
1:Do the USA Emploers consider Canadian Candidates having MSEE degrees
and experience.
2: Is it wise to look for Rf Engineering Jobs
in USA?, i mean it is worth to spend time in searching jobs in USA companies
?as i have noticed there is literaly not a single RF Engineering job
in Canada.........can u you beleive this?.
I just checked on the
canadian famous (or more precisely........) website www.workopolis.com
That website is showing the job population of 31,000 since last
4 years. u guys think this is cheating or what?
Any comments
and suggestions will be higly appreciated.
N.B: by the way i
have a M.Sc EE degree with total 7 years of work experiece including
2 years in RF Engineering (my thesis is in RF receiver design.

There aren't many RF jobs in Canada. A
good company that constantly hires is VCOM www.vcom.com
Most
companies in the US require US citizenship or permanent residency (Even
for positions which are not in the defense sector). The Americans are
afraid that their country might be swept by foreigners. Too bad. Yet
you can always work in other areas beside RF. I haven't worked in RF
for almost 2 years and after this time I found my current job in RF
design for which I am working for almost a year now. Life is full of
surprises you can never know.

you are right , RF design is not the end of the

Not sure were IR is getting his info. Many companies are hiring
non-citizens for jobs in the US. I know several people from different
countries working in the US on VH1 visas. Send your resume to a US company
and see what happens. The worse that can happen is that you won't get
a response.

Those people are working in the US offices
of their companies, their companies bring them and for that they take
care for working visas for them. I get this information from my experience
and from my friends' experience. American employers prefer to hire Americans
at first place and even more after the 11/9. America has become the
country of Americans which is good for the Americans and not for others.

Well I worked for two companies all with no international
offices, I would say at least a third of the engineers are on visas.
They claim because they cannot find qualified individuals with the required
skill sets in this country.

I do not know were IR is getting
his info. I work with a company which employs 185 persons, 90 of which
are engineers. Out of the 90 engineers , 50 are on H1B visas and are
from different parts of the world. Qualified RF engineers in the microwve
industry are hard to find and employers will go oversees to find them.

Hi everybody,
For the last one year I am
trying for a RF Engineering position on H1B visa in US. I have got 20
years hands on experience (after Ph.D) in RF and related fields . Now
on this form I understand that some people were mentioning that experienced
RF Engineers are not readily available in US and some companies are
eagar to recruit from overseas. But many a time when resumes are sent
to different employees the stock reply is on the following lines " at
the moment we are looking for only local candidates as relocation is
not available". I don't know what is the problem!
Can any body
please suggest a way how to get interview calls for persons like me
who are outside US hence not in a position to effectively go after the
job market there.
