am Posts: 2 Hello guys,
I am a new member to this forum.
After reading so many stories from succesfull and unsccesfull people,
i think i found a right place to ask for a good suggestion.
I
am going to graduate next month from DTU (Technical University of Denmark).
I did my specialization in RF and Microwave circuits, and did my project
on MMIC Mixer design for CW radar at 10GHz.
I am willing to
work either in USA or Europe in the RF field. I am interested in either
Board level or IC design. I would like to know the job opportunities
in this field and the approach for applying the companies.
I
have also got an offer to work in IT field in USA but, owing to my interest
in RF, i am considering to take RF as my career. Is it a good idea to
denounce my first offer from IT field ?
One more important thing,
How the EU degrees are rated in USA ? Do they consider these MSC degrees
from EU as equivalent to USA degrees when applied for a job ? or they
dont prefer ?
Thanks in advance, Unexperienced Hardware Engineer
(Waiting curiously)

I can only tell you that the chances for beginners today are very
hard. Most of the companies required at least 2 years of experiences.
What could help you as a beginner is if you have high grades.
Concerning degrees I assume that you have a MSc degree, this will
be equivalent to the MSEE degree in USA. Does DTU provide practicum
semster/s during the studies (Like in Germany or Switzerland)? If yes
this will increase your chances to find employment even as a beginner
since you have some practical experience, even if limited.
Good
luck!!

2 Dear Mr. IR,
Thank you for your suggestion after long
waiting. Unfortunately DTU has no practicum semesters. But, I am doing
my Master Thesis in collaboration with a company in Denmark (www.wiebel.dk).
I hope this will help me to some extent in getting calls for the interview.
Thanking you once again, -knreddy
