Good day.

I am looking for the specifications (maybe an IPC document) that would give the dimensions for the solder pads for standard size surface mount components (i.e. 0402, 0603, 0805, 1206, 2010, 2512 etc.).

I would like to have a specification so that I can reference a document, however, if someone knows of a website that can give these dimensions I will be able to start there.

Thank you for your time and help.
Michael

Please check Murata / Rohm website for the solder Pad Details (0201, 0402 etc)

IPC lists several optional solder pad dimensions for surface mount types like 0402 etc. depending on the manufacturing (soldering) process.

The IPC web site is closed for non members, but frequently, the recommendations can be found on other web sites with a little help from your favourite search engine.

:-D

Good day. Ulf Kylenfall - do you know the IPC document numbers? This would mak e my searching alot easier. If you can provide me with all of IPC document numbers (for the different soldering processes) that would be great.

Thank you for your time and help.

Hi Michael,

Look for IPC 7351.

There are three standards, (or suggestions) within this spec: Nominal, Least and Most. They all lists different dimensions which depends on the technology and capability of the assembly manufacturer.
