RF shielding box - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

I am looking for a RF shielding box that can shield an opamp ckt from high voltage and high RF (upto 100kw) interference.
I initially put some aluminum tape over the plastic box. It helped a little, but now it started to behave strangely.

What do u guys recommend to shield the ckt and also shield the wires going into the ckt.

There are several problems:
1. Do power or signals have to pass through the shielding?
2. What frequencies are you thinking about? (Magnetic shielding becomes difficult at low frequencies).
3. What is the field strength at the box? 100kW within 6 inches is different from 100 kW 100 yards away.
4. Not all opamps are equally resistant to RF.

Each of these has different implications.
