PowerPCB? 1 design in 2 PowerPCB editing ??? - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Dear all,

If I had one PCB design and wanted to give two people to edit (one person editing left hand side part, another person editing righ hand side part), after they finished their parts, how could I combine these two edited PCB file into one finially in the PowerPCB? Moreover, what could I set it in the PowerPCB before edition for final combination?

thanks

What I would do before moving to such PCB layout is to make a hierarchical schematics that will detail all the connections between the various blocks and by this minimized the chances for mistakes. In addition both the PCB layouts would have to contain the same number of layers and layer structure and maintain the same guidelines and DRC settings.

One of my recent PCB layout was done by more than 1 person (both on the same board one was doing the digital and the other the RF) if you don't keep these guidelines it can be prone to errors that can result in another spin of PCB layout. I haven't done that on PowerPCB but these guidelines are general and of course can match to any PCB layout tool!

Good luck!
