Memory effects :) - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Below are the old forum threads, including responses to the original posts.

This question is for all of you:

To which extent those of you who deal with circuit design remember the entire theory related to what you do?

- Do you use (of course) CAD tools and remember the theory basics?
- Do you constantly keep refreshing your memory by reading text books and application notes?
- Do you only take off the rust from your brain when you enter into new project design and concentrate just in the part you have to design?
- Any other option?

I am asking that because I keep refreshing my memory over things I already know and I forget them because I don't practice them too often. I am asking myself, if my brain is OK or everybody else do the same?
After all RF design is an ocean-wide area...to which level do you remember things? Formulas, concepts etc?

Before you hold an interview what do you do, how do you get ready for that?

Thanks
