MMIC Layout design guidance - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Below are the old forum threads, including responses to the original posts.

satish,
I do not know of any single or general sources of good literature on MMIC layout. however, I do know that many of the best technqiues begin with analog layout principle, and then move on to RF layout by straight forward approaches and 3d modeling.

I would recommend "The Art of Analog layout" by Alan Hastings.

That is a good place to start for understanding the nuances of layout with regard to sensitive IC circuits.

From there, I would recommend RF cmos design books like Tom Lee's "The design of CMOS Radio Frequency Integrated Circuits".

I own both of these books and find then extremely useful and well written.
