Hi,

I am looking for a diode or a rectifier IC that works at frequencies in the range of 3mhz to 50mhz.
The regular 1N4001 are not at all useful and are designed to work in the hertz range ( around 50hz).

thanx.

Hi!

Try a 1N914, 1N3600, or 1N4148 if you just need an ordinary signal diode.

That said, do you need something special, like a 1 Amp current rating or a 100 PIV or greater rating?

Good Luck!

I don't need the 1A diode. Just high speed for now.
Do you know if the rectification is good. I used 1N4001 to rectify a 3mhz signal, it just cannot do it. There is no rectification at that frequency, the input appears across the output with some voltage drop.

I really need a diode, that does not allow -ve part of the signal thru. Not even that little spike when signal crosses zero to -ve area.

Every PN junction diode has a Trr specification - "Time for Reverse Recovery", which represents the time necessary to remove carriers from the junction area. If you want zero, or as little as possible, you're pushed toward Schottky Barrier diodes.

Unfortunately, the junction capacitance of Schottky Barrier diodes is higher than that of PN junction diodes - and that may be an issue for you as well.

That said, I've had good luck with Agilent (HP) SBD's such as the 1N5712 in that frequency range.

Good Luck!
