patch antenna width - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

I am desiging uhf patch antenna, I got little freedom about the width of antenna ( less then 2cm), I cant use more than that. I can change my lenth. Is there anyway i can design this antenna with limited freedom on width.

According to my knowledge if we decrease the width input resistance of antenna increases. can we use matching networks?, what type of networks we can use.

resonant frequency is 915 MHz.

thanks

Hi , Dear vamsi,

you hadn't said anything about the high of your substrate. if you have any limitation on it?

three important parameters that effect to the input impedace of microstrip antennas, are the thickness of substrate , it's relative permittivity and width of strip.

if you have limitation on one of them, you can use two others to implement your design.

I hope , it'll be helpful
