Ku band losses - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

I'm considering mounting a Ku antenna behind a glass. Does anyone have reference material that I can use to calculate the losses expected?

Not clear here what setup you mean.
The Ku band uplink uses frequencies from 14 to 14.5GHz and the downlink uses frequencies between 11.7 and 12.7GHz.
Do you mean like a small TV Sat receive dish judiciously placed looking out through the glass window of an apartment?

Anyways - though glass has a unwelcome dielectric loss, it seems not to matter much. I have known the trick to work.
