Cellular extenders - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Below are the old forum threads, including responses to the original posts.

How do you extend/get cell coverage inside a tunnel? I am doing a project at the moment and need as much info as possible? What equipment to use etc? :smt119

you will need a cell-phone booster, like you might use to illuminate an office area that is below ground for instance. You need a solar panel and battery pack to supply it. Then on the antenna side you need an elevated position and a small yagi beamed on the nearest cell phone base to get the down-load link sorted. Finally, on the up-link side into the tunnel you need leaky coaxial feeder from Andrew Corp.
That should do it.
