Best directional antenna - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

I'm looking for what the best type of antenna is for high directivity. I'm looking to do a Tx/Rx system with very narrow line-of-sight in ISM900 MHz band, and want to minimize signal power off the beam sight line. Thanks.

a planar log spiral is not directional! A conical log-spiral is. However, it'll be broadband and circularly polarized.

If you want linear polarization, a Yagi-Uda antenna is indeed preferrable
