Tech Blunder in "Air Force One" Movie (Harrison Ford) - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Greetings:

Melanie and I were watching Air Force One (Harrison Ford) the other night and there was a scene where the Prez was in the bowels of the 747 and had to jerry-rig some wiring to dump fuel. He used a butter knife to easily strip the insulation off the wires. I know from having built MIL-SPEC and aerospace harnesses that only Teflon insulation is used in those applications both for ruggedness and for safety (fumes) reasons. There is no way in Hades that he could have cut through the insulation with a butter knife. Add that one to the long list of bogus tech stuff in movies.
