Tower flexing - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

I live in a windy area and want to put up a 30-40 foot tower for 20 meters. I want to use a fairly directional antenna to try my hand at DXing. I am wondering if anybody knows how much tower flexing affects such a setup? Will I have to use a guyed tower, or will a hefty unguyed, preferable crank-up, tower do the job? Thanx. :smt017
